Sacramento Notes:

  • Joe McCarthy continues to hit well, with his 5th 2-hit game out of the last six games, with a pair of home runs and a double during that span.  His batting average has gone up from .296 to .316 over the run.
  • Jaylin Davis has only played 20 games in Triple-A this season after a number of injuries, but he’s shown his power.  He’s hit home runs in 9 of those 20 games.
  • After a chilly July in which he hit (.241/.351/.405), Bryce Johnson hit his 11th double and 7th home runs of the season.  He was one of the key players in Sacramento keeping the team in the game into extras.
  • Brandon Belt’s rehab continued with his first hit of rehab in his 3rd game, as well as his second walk (7 total plate appearances).
  • Reyes Moronta got the start while rehabbing, with a scoreless inning.  In 3.2 innings so far, he has four strikeouts and four walks.
  • Camilo Doval had a strange batting line, walking four in 1.0 innings, but somehow not allowing any runs, and striking out three.  He came into the 7th with two out, walked a batter, then struck one out to get out of the inning.  In the 8th, he struck out two, but walked the bases loaded before being lifted, but none scored.
