AAA: Reno 8, Sacramento 7 (12 innings)

Sacramento Notes:

  • Jaylin Davis has only played 20 games in Triple-A this season after a number of injuries, but he’s shown his power.  He’s hit home runs in 9 of those 20 games.
  • After a chilly July in which he hit (.241/.351/.405), Bryce Johnson hit his 11th double and 7th home runs of the season.  He was one of the key players in Sacramento keeping the team in the game into extras.
  • Brandon Belt’s rehab continued with his first hit of rehab in his 3rd game, as well as his second walk (7 total plate appearances).
  • Reyes Moronta got the start while rehabbing, with a scoreless inning.  In 3.2 innings so far, he has four strikeouts and four walks.
  • Camilo Doval had a strange batting line, walking four in 1.0 innings, but somehow not allowing any runs, and striking out three.  He came into the 7th with two out, walked a batter, then struck one out to get out of the inning.  In the 8th, he struck out two, but walked the bases loaded before being lifted, but none scored.

AA: Bowie 6, Richmond 4

Richmond Notes:

  • Sandro Fabian hit a home run to open up August, his 9th of the season.  He had three in July, when he hit .224 over the month.

  • Brett Auerbach started off August with a bruise, maybe two of them.  He got hit by two pitches as well as hitting a double, his 5th in 95 at-bats at Eugene.
  • Armani Smith had a cold July, batting .203 on the month.  He played in his first game since July 22nd, and got two hits with his 8th double in Eugene.
  • Jake Dahlberg got hit hard in his second game for the Giants organization in Eugene.  He didn’t walk anyone, but he gave up nine hits, two of them home runs.

Low-A: San Jose 6, Inland Empire 3

San Jose Notes:

  • Ty Weber kicked off the new month with a new role, making his first start of the season, and he did it well.  He allowed two hits and no walks across four innings, though with just three strikeouts.  He’s got a 2.66 ERA with 46 strikeouts to just three walks in 44.0 innings.
