San Jose Notes:

  • …Monday was also a holiday, so when it came to teams just within an hour or so from each other, they decided to play on a travel day since that would mean more fans.  So here’s Stockton and San Jose!
  • Alexander Suarez had a huge game, going 2-for-4 with two home runs, giving him five on the season.  They were Suarez’s first home runs since May 7th, also against Stockton.  It’s been a rough season for Suarez, who has a batting line of just .186/.273/.372 and missed nearly two weeks of baseball in mid-May for an undisclosed reason.
  • Dilan Rosario had San Jose’s other home run, going 2-for-4 himself with a steal.  It was Rosario’s second home run of the season in his 34th game, which matches his total from 2021, when he had two in 53 games in the ACL.
  • Vaun Brown was 2-for-5 with two singles, but  also his 18th steal of the season.  Brown has a 7-game hitting streak, and has five straight multi-hit games, and has raised his batting average from .333 to .362 during the streak.  He also now has 18 steals in 19 attempts.
  • Aeverson Arteaga was 1-for-3 with his ninth double and two walks.  It was the first walks that Arteaga has drawn since May 18th, and he now has a .284 batting average to a .342 on-base percentage.  Arteaga has 59 strikeouts to 13 walks in 184 plate appearances.
  • Keaton Winn had a strong start, allowing no runs on two hits and two walks in 3.1 innings while striking out seven.  The strikeouts fell one short of Winn’s season high, and he now has 43 strikeouts to 11 walks in 27.2 innings.
  • Hunter Dula went two scoreless innings, allowing just a hit and striking out one.  Dula has a 2.70 ERA over 11 appearances, with 16 strikeouts to five walks in 13.1 innings.
