AAA: Round Rock 14, Sacramento 0

Sacramento Notes:

  • Joey Bart got half the hits for the River Cats, and added a walk.  With that, Bart now has the same batting average in Sacramento (.333, 49-for-147) as he does in San Francisco (2-for-6).
  • Braden Bishop picked up a single, extended a hit streak to six games.  He’s 10-for-25 (.400) over those last six games.
  • Akeel Morris allowed seven runs, his third game this season allowing that many runs, but his first at Triple-A.
  • Ty Weber was promoted to Sacramento from San Jose, and was called upon for his longest outing since June 13th.  It was Weber’s second game in Triple-A this season, the first coming back on June 7th, but he allowed two home runs this time.  It was the first home runs he’d given up this season.

AA: Richmond 8, Somerset 7

Richmond Notes:

  • Heliot Ramos hit his 10th home run, and second in his last four games.  Ramos had been on a hot streak since before his Futures Game appearance, but had gone 0-for-5 with two walks over his last two games before Sunday.
  • Diego Rincones hit his second home run in as many games, his first ones in Double-A since his promotion.  The hit got him back to the Mendoza line in Double-A, he’s batting .200/.263/.371
  • Sandro Fabian’s home run was his 8th, and 2nd in the past four games.  Fabian has only gone 6-for-33 (.182) in July, but half of those hits have been home runs.
  • Simon Whiteman picked up a hit, and another stolen base, his fifth of the month.  That broke Whiteman out of a 5-way tie for 6th place in the league with 10, and moved into a 2-way tie for 5th with 11.  The league leader has 18.
  • Luis Amaya made his third start of the season, but it was shorter than some of relief appearances this year, as he walked four and gave up three hits.
  • R.J. Dabovich had a quiet inning in relief.  Without allowing a hit, he lowered his average allowed in Double-A to .214

High-A: Eugene 11, Spokane 9 (10 Innings)

Eugene Notes:

  • Carter Aldrete launched his 5th home run of the season, and 4th in the last seven games.  Adrete has raised his slugging percentage from .276 to .384 over that stretch.
  • Brett Auerbach hit just his third double in 13 games at Eugene.  In 34 games to start the season in San Jose, he had 11 of them.
  • Tyler Fitzgerald continued his hottest streak since late June.  He’s 9-for-22 (.409) with three doubles and three home runs over that stretch.
  • Armani Smith’s 3-hit day was his second since his promotion to High-A Eugene.  His batting line is up to .272/.353/.456 with 28 games under his belt at the level.

Low-A: San Jose 5, Modesto 4

San Jose Notes:

  • A double and a home run for Jairo Pomares, giving him 11 and nine respectively on the season.  His batting line is up to .318/.378/.673 on the season.  Pomares’ home run was with two and two strikes in the top of the 9th, and gave San Jose the lead.
  • Marco Luciano’s 2-hit game was the third of the last four games.  But Luciano now has a streak of 12-straight games with at least one strikeout (14 total).  He’s walked nine times in those 12 games.  Overall, he has 57 strikeouts to 34 walks in 267 plate appearances.
  • Prelander Berroa had a season-high nine strikeouts despite being in one of his shortest starts since the first half of the season.  He has 71 in 52.1 innings this season, with 29 walks.
