ACL Giants Black Notes:
- Left fielder P.J. Hilson had a heck of a game, going 3-for-5 with two home runs, knocking in five of the team’s runs. Hilson now has nine home runs in 51 games in the ACL, with a batting line of .296/.383/.570.
- Center fielder Wade Meckler went 1-for-2 with three walks and picked up his first steal of the season. Meckler is having a fine debut, batting .324 with a .500 on-base percentage, now with 11 walks to just eight strikeouts in 11 games. He has as many walks as hits this season.
- Starting pitcher Nomar Medina went 5.0 scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and with six strikeouts. Medina now has a 2.22 ERA through 14 games this summer, 12 of which are starts for 65.0 innings pitched. Last summer, Medina had a 2.57 ERA in 14 appearances, though only three were starts, for just 35.0 innings.

ACL Giants Orange Notes:
- The newest Giants free agent signing, Ken Giles, made his team debut with a start in Arizona. The former closer gave up two runs on two hits and a walk in 1.0 inning, with two strikeouts. Previously this year, Giles gave up just one hit and four walks in 4. innings in the big leagues with Seattle, but also had a 8.44 ERA in six games at High-A, and a 10.29 ERA in eight games at Triple-A with them. He was released on August 14th. He missed the 2021 season with Tommy John surgery.
- Third baseman Derwin Laya came into the game late as a pinch hitter, and went 1-for-1 with a sacrifice fly, but his single hit was a home run. The home run was Laya’s third of the season, matching the total he had last season in the DSL.
- Rehabbing Will Wilson went 2-for-3 with his fourth double of his rehab, now in its ninth game. Wilson has now gone 14-for-28 with four doubles and one home run, with four walks to eight strikeouts.
- 2nd round pick Carson Whisenhunt worked two innings in relief, giving up just one hit while striking out five. The hit was Whisenhunt’s first baserunner allowed in his second game. He has seven strikeouts in 3.0 innings with no walks yet.
- Reliever Mikell Manzano had the same line as Whisenhunt, giving up just one hits in 2.0 innings, with five strikeouts. Manzano has had three straight scoreless appearances after having allowed nine runs in three straight before that, and has whittled his ERA from 5.02 to 3.93. He has 81 strikeouts to 17 walks in 55.0 innings.

DSL Giants Black Notes:
- First baseman Guillermo Williamson went 2-for-4 with his seventh home run and 13th double. Williamson has a batting line of .231/.344/.418 with 13 doubles and seven home runs on the summer.
- Right fielder Saul Bautista went 2-for-3 with a walk, hitting two doubles, and getting his 17th steal of the year. Bautista has gone 25-for-89 (.281) with six doubles and two triples, with 17 steals on 22 attempts.
- Starter Anderson Azor gave up a run on 2.0 innings, on two hits and two walks, with four strikeouts. Azor has 27 strikeouts to 18 walks in 30.2 innings this season.

DSL Giants Orange Notes:
- Shortstop Dennys Riera went 2-for-4 with his first triple of the summer. Riera has a batting line of .150/.237/.280 with five doubles, a triple, and two home runs.
- Catcher Juan Perez went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles, his first of the season. Through 47 games, Perez just had three home runs for his only extra-base hits on the year until this game. He has a batting line of .222/.312/.294.
- Starter Samir Chires gave up just two unearned runs on three hits and a walk, with a season-high-tying six strikeouts, all in a season-high 6.0 innings. He has 38 strikeouts to 17 walks in 44.0 innings.
- The team was supposed to play a second game, the continuation of a postponed game on July 7th, but it was not restarted due to weather.
