Sacramento Notes:

  • Mauricio Dubón had a 3-hit day, with three home runs in his last five games.  He’s now batting .338/.416/.504 with 13 doubles, two triples, and seven home runs in Sacramento.
  • Arismendy Alcantara only had a single hit, but he got his fifth triple of the season.  Alcantara is batting just .250 in September, but he has three doubles, three home runs, and that triple for a .600 slugging percentage.
  • Heliot Ramos had another 2-hit game, with his 11th double in Triple-A.  He has seven multi-hit games in his last nine games, and has upped his River Cats batting average up to .269.
  • Ricardo Genovés continues his Triple-A roll, with another 2-hit game and his third double in as many games.  He’s 5-for-12 (.417) so far in his brief Triple-A callup.
  • Norwith Gudino had the start, his first since September, and he went 3.0 innings.  He allowed just one hit, a home run.  In 35.0 innings at Triple-A, he’s got eight home runs allowed.
  • Sammy Long had an excellent day in relief, with three strikeouts out of four outs.  In 11 games at Sacramento, he has a 2.05 ERA with 31 strikeouts to nine walks in 26.1 IP.
  • The River Cats lost in 11 innings, and the winning pitcher for Salt Lake was former Giants prospect Jose Marte, who played as high as Double-A in the Giants organization before being traded to the Angels, where he’s played in the bigs and Triple-A.

DSL Giants Black Notes:

  • Yeison Lemos had a huge day, with his eighth double and his fifth home run of the season.  Lemos is batting .236 with a .429 slugging percentage, with eight doubles, two triples, and five home runs in 40 games.
  • Gustavo Cardozo had another 4-hit game, picking up his 10th double.  Cardozo has a .312/.386/.408 batting line, with 10 doubles and one triple, but no home runs.  He’s also struck out 14 with 14 walks.
  • Samir Chires matched his season-high with 4.0 innings, allowing just three hits with one unearned run.  In 27.0 innings, Chires has struck out 12 with six walks.

DSL Giants Orange Notes:

  • This game was the continuation of a suspended game from August 10th, which was suspended in the middle of the first.  There was supposed to be another game played today, but it was cancelled.
  • Samuel Rodriguez had a 4-for-4 day with a double.  He now has six doubles and a home run in his 40 games played this summer, with 21 walks to 30 strikeouts.
  • Javier Castillo was inserted into the game after it was restarted, playing just his 16th game of the summer, with his fourth double of the season overall.  Officially, Castillo has played for both the DSL Black team (actually) and the DSL Orange team (technically) on August 10th.
  • Miguel Mora had a big game in the start, with eight strikeouts to no walks.  He’s now got a 3.09 ERA with 47 strikeouts to 16 walks.
