It’s a Rookie-Schedule Monday, and while there’s some good things (2 home runs by Moises De La Rosa!), it’s also a good opportunity to look back at a week in Richmond with a lot of wins as the Squirrels push towards the playoffs.

Top ACL Giants Black Performances:

  • Third baseman Charlie Szykowny went 2-for-5 and his second pro home run was a walkoff in the desert.  Syzkowny now has two home runs, a triple, and three doubles in 14 games in Arizona.  He’s hitting .271/.417/.500.
  • First baseman Guillermo Williamson was 1-for-4 with a double and a walk.  After 55 games, Williamson now has 15 doubles and nine home runs, with a .291/.420/.522 batting line.
  • Reliever Christian Avendano had a great appearance, striking out five in 2.1 innings, without allowing any baserunners.  Avendano hasn’t allowed any earned runs in his last six games (12.0 innings) since allowing six runs back on July 29th.  He lowered his ERA to 4.67 in the AZL, now with 20 walks to 40 strikeouts in 27.0 innings.

  • Shortstop Ramon Peralta went 2-for-3 with a double, two walks, and a stolen base.  That’s Peralta’s 12th double in 48 games this spring, and he also now has five steals in seven attempts, and 34 walks to 54 strikeouts.
  • Right fielder Bryce Eldridge was 2-for-4 with a pair of singles, with a walk.  He’s now 14-for-48 with three doubles and four home runs, with a batting line of .292/.397/.604.
  • Starting pitcher Samir Chires went 6.0 innings, allowing three runs, two earned, on four hits and two walks, with two strikeouts.  Chires has a 4.68 ERA with 47 strikeouts to 27 walks in 50.0 innings.

  • It was a big game for right fielder Moises De La Rosa, going 2-for-3 with two home runs and a walk.  De La Rosa now has five home runs after 45 games, with two doubles and seven home runs, to go with a batting line of .286/.410/.463.
  • DH Carlos Concepcion went 3-for-4 with a home run on the day.  Concepcion is hitting .291/.368/.436 with five doubles and four home runs after 33 games this summer.
  • Reliever Brayan Cabello went 2.2 scoreless innings, allowing only two hits and one walk while striking out five.  He lowered his ERA to 6.27 and has 38 strikeouts to 12 walks in 33.0 innings.

  • Catcher Jesus Alexander hit his first pro home run on a 1-for-4 day, knocking in three runs.  The 17-year old has a batting line of .171/.259/.263 through 23 games.
  • Right fielder Erick Arosemena went 1-for-3 with a double and a HBP.  Through 36 games, he has seven doubles, with a batting line of .264/.374/.322.
  • Left fielder Oswaldo Ladera went 1-for-3 with a double and a walk.  He has four doubles and three home runs, for a batting line of .243/.392/.357.
