With just three games being played, there were still a few things going on in the farm.  In Eugene, Grant McCray and Ghordy Santos each hit new season-highs even as the Emeralds were being blown out.  In Sacramento, Luis González responded well in his first game after being being DFA’d.

Top Sacramento Performances:

  • Second baseman Donovan Walton went 3-for-4 with a home run.  That is his third home run in 12 games at Triple-A this season, and first since he made his return to the level on August 20th.  He has a total of 5 home runs in 52 games across four levels this season.  He’s hitting .286/.359/.571 with the River Cats.
  • First baseman/left fielder Trenton Brooks was 1-for-4 with a home run.  That’s his second home run in three games with the River Cats, and 18th overall if you include his 94 games with Las Vegas previously.  He’s just 2-for-13 (.231) in those three games with Sacramento.
  • Right fielder Luis González was 3-for-4 with a double.  This was González’s first game with Sacramento since being designated for assignment on August 14th by the Giants and passing through waivers.  González is now hitting .268/.369/.357 in just 15 games at Sacramento this season.
  • Starting pitcher Keaton Winn threw 3.0 shutout innings, allowing three hits, one walk, and one HBP, with two strikeouts.  Winn has a 4.81 ERA in 17 games at Sacramento, with 66 strikeouts to 26 walks in 58.0 innings.

Top Eugene Performances:

  • Center fielder Grant McCray was the only Emerald with multiple hits, going 2-for-4 with a double and two strikeouts, and picking up a stolen base.  McCray now has 23 doubles, which matches his total from last season, in six less games.  He also now has a new season-high in steals with 44 in 53 attempts.  He’s hitting .253/.354/.411 this season.
  • Second baseman Ghordy Santos went 1-for-3 with a triple.  That gives him a new season-high with four triples this season, in 79 games.  He’s batting .228/.329/.444 on the season.
  • Left fielder Jared Dupere was 1-for-4 with a double.  That’s Dupere’s 19th double of the season in Eugene, through 84 games.  In High-A, he’s hitting .250/.318/.419.

Top San Jose Performances:

  • Right fielder Bryce Eldridge went 2-for-4 on the day.  Eldridge is now 3-for-8 (.375) after two games at San Jose, with all singles so far.  He has one walk against two strikeouts.
  • Second baseman Quinn McDaniel was also 2-for-4 with a pair of singles.  After two Low-A games, McDaniel is 2-for-7 (.286).  He hasn’t walked or struck out yet with San Jose.
  • Left fielder P.J. Hilson was 1-for-2 with a double and a walk.  Hilson now has 12 doubles, three triples, and ten home runs, with 51 strikeouts to 12 walks in 74 games with San Jose.
