DSL Giants Black Notes:

  • Left fielder Eliam Sandoval was 1-for-2 with two walks and his fourth home run of the season.  He has four home runs and four doubles with a .304/.375/.506 batting line
  • Third baseman Jean Carlos Sio was 1-for-3 with his seventh steal of the season.  He has seven steals in eight attempts, with a .237/.314/.368 batting line.  He also picked up a pair of errors.
  • Saul Bautista was just 1-for-5, but collected three steals, to give him 12 on the year.  Bautista now has 12 steals in 15 attempts, with a batting line of .277/.379/.340 on the year.
  • Starter Johnny Grullon gave up one run, unearned, with two hits and one walk allowed with four strikeouts.  Overall, Grullon has a 3.12 ERA with 18 strikeouts to 21 walks in 26.0 innings.

DSL Giants Orange Notes:

  • Designated hitter Erick Arosemena had a huge game, going 3-for-5 with two home runs, his first two of the season and his pro career, including a grand slam.  Arosemena through 14 games has a batting line of .163/.234/.372 with a double, a triple, and two home runs.
  • Left fielder Oswaldo Ladera picked up the team’s other home run, going 1-for-4 with two walks.  Ladera now has two home runs, along with eight doubles in 28 games.  He’s batting .228/.343/.380 on the summer.
  • Right Estanlin Cassiani was one of the team leaders in hits, going 3-for-5 with a walk.  Through 28 games, he’s batting 36-for-91 (.396) with a .451 on-base percentage and a .418 slugging percentage, his only extra-base hit being a triple.
  • Ismael Mota had the start, but gave up a season-high five runs, four earned, in 5.0 innings, on a season-high nine hits and a walk, while striking out seven.  On the year, Mota has a 2.79 with 36 strikeouts with 16 walks in 29.0 innings.
