AAA: Salt Lake 2, Sacramento 1
Sacramento Notes:
- Mike Tauchman hit his second home run of the season in Sacramento, his first since August 14th. In Triple-A, Tauchman is batting .213/.351/.377.
- Wyatt Mathisen had the only 2-hit game for Sacramento on Saturday, including his second double with Sacramento in his fourth game with the team.
- Sean Hjelle had his best game in Triple-A so far, allowing just two runs on six hits and a walk. It was Hjelle’s first game with just one walk since July 28th in Double-A.
AA: Cancelled: COVID-19
High-A: Suspended
Eugene Notes:
- No joke, this game was suspended after one inning when the lights wouldn’t work in Hillsboro. The game will be picked up on Sunday, finished as a part of a double-header.
Low-A: Visalia 7, San Jose 1
San Jose Notes:
- Carter Williams had a 3-hit game, his first such game since his first week with San Jose on June 22nd. He has a batting line of .262/.305/.448 on the season.
- Luis Matos hit his 30th double on the season, and also stole his 21st base in his 25th attempt. Matos has been a little cool to start the month, going 3-for-17 with two doubles in the month’s first four games.
- Carson Ragsdale had a rough game, allowing six runs on six hits, two walks, and a hit batter. Ragsdale has 156 strikeouts in 103.2 innings with 41 walks.
ACL: ACL Giants Orange 7, ACL Giants Black 0
ACL Giants Black Notes:
- Jared Dupere was 1-for-2 with a walk. After 19 games, he’s batting .300/.391/.450 with four doubles, a triple, and a home run.
- Jacob Gonzalez got a single, extending his hitting streak to seven games. He’s raised his ACL batting average from .277 to .310 over that span.
- Rafael Martinez allowed at least six runs for the fourth straight games, though this time three runs were unearned. Martinez’s ERA is up to 8.58, up from 4.97 which was when the streak began.
ACL Giants Orange Notes:
- Damon Dues hit his first triple in a 2-hit effort on Saturday. He’s batting .255/.382/.327 on the season through 19 games.
- Aeverson Arteaga is 16-for-42 (.381) over his current 11-game hitting streak, with two doubles and a home run over that span.
- Garrett Frechette had his second straight 2-hit game, raising his ACL batting average to .346 after 41 games.
- 1st round pick Will Bednar made his second appearance, and allowed his first baserunner by way of a walk. He’s got three strikeouts in 2.0 innings so far.
- Nomar Medina got the biggest share of innings out of the bullpen, going four shutout innings. In 26.0 innings, he’s struck out 33 strikeouts to 14 walks.
DSL: DSL Giants Black 4, DSL Giants Orange 1
DSL Giants Black Notes:
- Javier Francisco hit his second triple of the summer, and now has two doubles, two triples, and two home runs in 18 games this season.
- Elian Rayo is 9-for-28 (.321) over his last eight games, with all four of his doubles on the season and a triple.
- Gerelmi Maldonado had his best appearance of the season, not allowing a run over a season-high four innings and striking out six. He’s got 18 strikeouts to nine walks in 16.2 innings this season.
DSL Giants Orange Notes:
- Samuel Reyes had a 2-hit day, hitting his third triple of the season. On the season, he’s batting .257/.391/.400 with four doubles and three triples.
- Samuel Rodriguez collected his first home run on his 24th game of the season.
- German Malave had his roughest start, allowing a season-high four runs, though two were unearned, as he walked five. He’d had three walks in the previous 12.1 innings he’d thrown this season.
