  • Shortstop Tyler Fitzgerald was 2-for-4 with a double.  That’s Fitzgerald’s 14th double of the season, to go with two triples and 13 home runs.  In 69 games, Fitzgerald has a batting line of .273/.333/.471 with 25 walks to 78 strikeouts.
  • Right fielder Brett Wisely was 1-for-2 with a walk, a strikeout, and a sacrifice fly.    Wisely has a batting line of .285/.424/.500 with 13 doubles and five home runs, and 31 walks to 45 strikeouts.
  • Reliever Sean Newcombe went 1.2 innings, allowing only one walk while striking out two.  In 14 games at Triple-A, he’s got a 2.70 ERA, with 36 strikeouts to 16 walks in 26.2 innings.

  • Third baseman Shane Matheny was 1-for-2 with a home run and two walks.  It was Matheny’s sixth home run in Richmond over 46 games, doubling his total of home runs in Sacramento (3) that took him 57 games at the level.  He’s batting .261/.395/.465 with the Squirrels.
  • Center fielder Ismael Munguia was 2-for-4 with a pair of single and a walk.  In Richmond, Munguia has a .308/.382/.405 batting line, with 17 walks to 28 strikeouts after 50 games.
  • Second baseman Donovan Walton also had a pair of singles, going 2-for-4 with a HBP.  He’s 3-for-8 in two games since being moved back down to Richmond.  In 10 games at the level, he’s hitting .303/.415/.485 with six walks to seven strikeouts.
  • Starting pitcher Spencer Bivens didn’t give up a hit, but gave up a run in 3.1 innings off of three walks and a HBP, while striking out six.  It’s just Biven’s third start of the season, and he’s got a 4.41 ERA with 46 strikeouts to 26 walks in 51.0 innings.
  • Reliever Ben Madison struck out five in 2.2 innings, not allowing a run but allowing a hit and a walk.  Madison has a 3.93 ERA after nine games at Double-A, with 25 strikeouts to 15 walks in 18.1 innings at the level.

  • Center fielder Scott Bandura made an out!  No, but really, Bandura was 2-for-3 with a double and a strikeout.  After two games, Bandura is 5-for-6 (.833) in San Jose with a double and a home run, plus two walks to one strikeout, and a stolen base.
  • Left fielder Alexander Suarez was 2-for-4 with a double and a stolen base.  Suarez now has nine doubles, five triples, and five home runs in 78 games, and has 17 steals in 20 attempts.  Suarez is hitting .247/.311/.364 on the year.
  • Starting pitcher Mikell Manzano made his San Jose debut threw 4.0 shutout innings, allowing four hits and a walk, though without striking anyone out.  Manzano had a 3.12 ERA after five games in the ACL this season.  Manzano had a brief cameo in San jose last season, and had a 23.63 ERA after two games.
