Sacramento Notes:

  • Braden Bishop hit his 10th home run of the season, extending his hitting streak to eight games.  He’s 12-for-28 (.429) with two doubles and the home run over the streak.
  • Jason Krizan got his 16th home run of the season, extending his new career-high for home runs in a season.  He’s batting .321/.367/.509 on the year.
  • Joey Bart has had a quiet September, but on Friday hit his first extra-base hit of the month.  The double is his 14th of the season.
  • Heliot Ramos had his third straight multi-hit game, raising his batting average to .260.  He’s 7-for-15 (.467) over his last three games.  He also stole his seventh base in Sacramento, leading to a run.
  • Logan Ondrusek had his best start with Sacramento this year.  He threw six shutout innings, allowing four hits and just one walk, though with just three walks.  He has 31 strikeouts to 10 walks in 33.1 innings.

AA: Erie 3, Richmond 2

Richmond Notes:

  • Shane Matheny got into his first game in three weeks, since August 28th, and hit his fourth home run of the season.  In 57 games this season, Matheny has 10 doubles, a triple, and a home run while hitting .212 this season.
  • Jacob Heyward hit his 12th double of the season, and first since August 28th.  Heyward has 12 doubles and 11 home runs while hitting .205 this season.
  • Trenton Toplikar struck out just two and walked one for the second time in a row.  Over 93.2 IP, Toplikar has 86 strikeouts to 36 walks.

High-A: Eugene 3, Tri-City 2

Eugene Notes:

  • Franklin Labour notched his sixth triple of the season.  Through 98 games, Labour has 16 doubles, six triples, and 13 home runs.
  • Sean Roby had a 2-double day, giving him 24 on the season, alongside 19 home runs.    They are Roby’s first doubles of September, as he has just these two doubles and two home runs among his 13 hits so far this month.
  • Jake Dahlberg struck out a season-high 10 batters in Friday’s game.  Dahlberg now has 61 strikeouts to nine walks in 46.1 innings.
  • Chris Wright struck out three in his single inning of work, the third time he’s done that in the last four games.  With Eugene, Wright has 62 strikeouts to 18 walks in 37.0 IP.

Low-A: San Jose 6, Fresno 5

San Jose Notes:

  • Luis Matos’ run continues, with a 2-double night.  Over his last seven games, he’s 16-for-27 (.593) with five doubles and three home runs.  He’s got a league-leading 35 doubles to go with a triple and a home run.
  • Jimmy Glowenke is on another one of his glow-up streaks like he was on in July.  This one is only 8 games long so far, but he’s 15-for-30 (.500) with a double, a triple, and a home run over that span.
  • Grant McCray hit a triple for the second straight game.  He’s got a hitting streak now of 12 games, but 11 of them have been just a single hit.  He has two doubles, two triples, and a home run in it, and just two walks to 17 strikeouts.
  • Nick Swiney’s 0.00 ERA in San Jose is over, after allowing a pair of earned runs in 4.0 innings, but he also set a new season-high with nine strikeouts.  Swiney has 42 strikeouts to 12 walks in 24.1 innings in Low-A.

ACL: ACL Angels 5, ACL Giants Black 4

ACL Giants Black Notes:

  • Victor Bericoto hit his first home run of the season, in just his sixth game of the year.  He’s gotten at least one hit in each of the last four games he’s played, with a 2-week break between some of them.
  • Jacob Gonzalez had a pair of hits, and hit his 8th double while in the ACL.  Gonzalez has a .295/.356/.490 batting line with the ACL this summer.
  • Alexander Suarez had his own 2-hit game, raising his ACL batting average to .314.
  • Lisander De La Cruz made the start, with three shutout innings of work.  It was his first shutout start since August 20th.

ACL: ACL Brewers Blue 4, ACL Giants Orange 2

ACL Giants Orange Notes:

  • George Bell hit his first triple of the season a day after hitting his fourth home run.  Bell is batting .216/.314/.462 on the season.
  • Vaun Brown picked up his 7th double, and the 10th round pick is having a great September.  He’s 14-for-31 (.452) with five doubles and two triples on the month.
  • Garrett Frechette hit his 13th double in the ACL, but just his second of September.  Frechette is batting .335/.387/.439 in 48 games in Arizona.
  • Seth Lonsway, the Giants 6th round pick, had his best appearance out of four so far, with two scoreless innings without allowing a baserunner.

DSL: DSL Cubs Red 5, DSL Giants Black 4

DSL Giants Black Notes:

  • Elian Rayo picked up his fifth double of the summer.  Rayo is batting .295/.436/.409 on the summer.
  • Mauricio Pierre got a hit, giving him a little 4-game hitting streak here in September.  Pierre is 12-for-42 (.286) with three doubles and two home runs in September.
  • Samir Chires made just his second start of the season, and had his sixth appearance out of 12 without getting a strikeout.  In 23.0 innings pitched this season, he has just nine strikeouts and just six walks.

DSL Giants Orange Notes:

  • Samuel Reyes picked up his first home run of the season in Game 2.  Reyes is batting .273/.403/.434 with 15 walks and 16 strikeouts in 99 at-bats.
  • Wueslly Lespe had his second straight game with a triple, his only two of the season.  Lespe is 10-for-21 (.476) in September with a .810 slugging percentage after the two triples and a home run.
  • Cristofer Valenzuela took the start, officially listed as the August 24th game, giving up a season high nine hits and a walk.  Valenzuela’s ERA is at 12.15 on the season.
  • Mikell Manzano had the Game 2 start, allowing seven runs, though just one was earned with four errors behind him.  Manzano has allowed 29 runs in 37.1 innings, but just 18 have been earned.
