Sacramento Notes:

  • John Nogowski hit his second home run in five games since joining the River Cats.  He’s 4-for-19 in those five games, but has two home runs and one double in that span.
  • Ronnie Freeman has played six games since coming back from an injury stint, and has three home runs in that span, out of four total that he’s hit for the River Cats.
  • Heliot Ramos picked up a 3-hit game, his eighth multi-hit game in his last 11 games, in which he’s raised his Triple-A average from .241 to .273.
  • Joey Bart made his first appearance since September 21st, collecting a hit in a shortened appearance.  He’s batting .295/.360/.474 in Sacramento with 15 doubles and 10 home runs this season.
  • Matt Shoemaker marked a season-high in innings, with 8.0 innings and tying a season high with 11 strikeouts.  Shoemaker has a 4.83 ERA with Sacramento in nine appearances, but now has 54 strikeouts in 50.1 innings, to just nine walks.

DSL Giants Black Notes:

  • Jose Astudillo had his second double in as many days, giving him three on the season in 19 games played.
  • Eduardo Montero also picked up his third double of the season, in just his 15th game.  All three doubles have come in September, in which he’s played just five months.
  • Jose Rojas had another strong start, allowing just one run on two hits and a walk.  Rojas has allowed just a .193 batting average this season, but also has just 23 strikeouts to 15 walks in 31.2 innings.

DSL Giants Orange Notes:

  • Randy Arrieta had one of the team’s 2-hit days, picking up his first double with the Orange team, and second double of the season overall, splitting time between the two ACL teams.
  • Samuel Reyes added a double a day after hitting two triples and a double.  He now has nine doubles after 41 games, with a .310/.433/.484 batting line.
  • Rolfi Jimenez Gave up five hits, three walks and a hit batter over four innings, but just one run allowed.  He’s given up nine earned runs (12 total) in 17.2 innings in September, with 11 strikeouts to just 15 walks.
