Richmond Notes:

  • David Villar picked up his 25th double and 19th home run on the season.  Villar’s batting line for the season is up to .276/.374/.510.
  • Sandro Fabian had his second 3-hit game in his last four played (going back to August 27th, due to cancellations).  Fabian has a line of .270/.303/.467 on the season.
  • Akeel Morris allowed just one run, and now has a streak of five straight starts of at least five innings, allowing one run or less.  His Richmond ERA is down to 3.95.
  • Patrick Ruotolo came back for his first game since leaving early on August 27th, going another scoreless inning.  He has 45.0 strikeouts in 33.0 IP this season, with five walks.
  • R.J. Dabovich made his first appearance in over a month as he came back from the IL, only hitting a batter, his first of the season, in a scoreless inning.

High-A: Eugene 11, Everett 5

Eugene Notes:

  • Brett Auerbach hit his 13th home run, his first since August 21st.  Auerbach has a batting line of .259/.335/.540 with eight doubles, a triple, and 13 home runs in High-A.
  • Sean Roby hit his second home run in as many games, and is 5-for-8 with the two home runs and a walk over that span.  Roby 41 walks to 126 strikeouts on the season.
  • Ismael Munguia’s hot streak continues.  He’s 11-for-22 with a double and a home run over his last five games, and now has 18 doubles to eight home runs on the season.
  • Seth Corry has been lights out since he came back on August 29th.  After three shutout innings, he now has six innings without a run, and just one hit and two walks allowed to six strikeouts.

Low-A: San Jose 8, Stockton 1

San Jose Notes:

  • Yorlis Rodriguez hit his second home run in three days, giving him five on the season between San Jose and the ACL.
  • Abdiel Layer hit his first home run of September, giving him 11 on the season.  Layer has a season batting line of .209/.266/.376 line on the year, with 110 strikeouts to 19 walks.
  • Yesterday I mentioned that Grant McCray hadn’t hit an extra-base hit since his home run in his first at-bat with San Jose, and he apparently took it personally, hitting a home run to give him two extra-base hits in San Jose across 16 games at the level.
  • Carter Williams hit his first home run since August 5th, giving him seven home runs on the season.  Williams is 9-for-28 (.321) with two doubles and a home run in September, after he hit just .196 in August.
  • Kyle Harrison came down from his season-high 12 strikeouts in his last start to strike out just 8, but remained dominant otherwise.  In 93.2 innings, he has 149 strikeouts to 49 walks, and has held opponents to a .237 batting average.
