Sacramento Notes:

  • Wyatt Mathisen finised off the season with his biggest day for Sacramento, his first three hit day since joining the River Cats on August 30th, with two doubles to give him five on the season.
  • Heliot Ramos ended the season with a 2-hit day and a defensive gem of a play.  He finishes 2021 with a .272/.323/.399 batting line in Triple-A after a disappointing start to the season in Double-A, and he will be a big part of offseason discussion about the big league roster once those discussions really start.
  • Jason Vosler finishes his first season in the Giants organization with two more hits, his 4th mutli-hit game in the last eight.  He hit .295/.385/.529 in Triple-A in a very successful season.
  • It’s never to late to make a debut, and Brandon Martorano made his Triple-A debut with a pinch-hit at-bat for a home run!  It gave him nine overall this season, in just 64 games played split mostly between Double-A and High-A.
  • Bryce Johnson got a hit and a walk, but also two steals to give him 30 on the season.  It was one short of his career high (31 in 2019, in 16 more games played).  Johnson finishes the season with a .286/.377/.433 batting line.
  • Jake Dahlberg wrapped up the year with his best start at the highest level, with eight shutout innings with eight strikeouts to two hits and no walks.  Dahlberg had a 6.60 ERA in High-A this season, but he had this start and one relief appearance to be unscored upon in 9.0 Triple-A innings.

That’s it!  The Minor League Season is over!

Thank you for hanging with me for the entire season as I tried to make this work!  I’ll continue with wrap up material this offseason and a lot of discussion about the Giants farm going forward.
