Heliot Ramos had the big hit for Sacramento on Saturday, with a walk-off home run in the 9th and his first since coming off the All-Star Break.  Jimmy Glowenke’s 11th inning home run was part of that team’s winning rally.  And Brett Auerbach stole three bases, proving his legs are fine after yesterday’s spectacular catch.

Top Sacramento Performances:

  • Heliot Ramos hit a walkoff home run while going 1-for-4 with two strikeouts.  It’s his first home run since he hit four in the rare air of Salt Lake City before the All-Star Break.  In 32 games at Triple-A, he now has a batting line of .300/.346/.567, and has seven home runs, two triples, and seven doubles.
  • DH Isan Díaz went 1-for-3 with his seventh Triple-A home run of the season.  After 23 games, that gives him a batting line of .221/.287/.488 with seven home runs and just two doubles, with eight walks to 35 strikeouts.
  • Starting pitcher Keaton Winn gave up one run in his 3.0 innings in his start, on three hits and a walk, while striking out three.  This is the first game in three since Winn returned to Triple-A where he’s allowed just one run or less.  His ERA is down to 4.47 after 15 games at the level, with 61 strikeouts to 25 walks in 52.1 innings.
  • Reliever Sean Newcomb struck out seven of the 11 batters he faced, allowing just two hits and no walks.  Newcomb lowered his ERA to 3.38 and has 31 strikeouts to 13 walks in 21.1 innings.

Top Richmond Performances:

  • Second baseman Jimmy Glowenke had the big hit for the Squirrels, hitting his fourth home run for the team in the 11th inning as part of the winning rally.  He was 3-for-5 with two strikeouts, plus a stolen base.  In Double-A, he’s hitting .222/.305/.368 with five doubles and four home runs.
  • Center fielder Wade Meckler was 2-for-5 with a walk and a stolen base.  That just keeps his great games going.  He’s hitting .354/.442/.465 with 20 walks to 20 strikeouts in 33 games, and now has four steals in six attempts.
  • Starting pitcher Carson Whisenhunt went 4.0 shutout innings, giving up just three hits and no walks with five strikeouts.  Whisenhunt was reportedly touching 96 with his fastball as he recovered his velocity.  In six games at Richmond, he now has a 3.20 ERA  with 27 strikeouts to 11 walks in 19.2 innings.

Top Eugene Performances:

  • 1B Luis Toribio had a big game on a big offensive day for the team, going 3-for-4 with a walk, and hit two doubles and one home run.  That gives him nine doubles and eleven home runs after 65 games, and has 44 walks to 70 strikeouts.  His batting line is at .234/.364/.436 on the season.
  • Center fielder Grant McCray also had a 3-hit game, going 3-for-6 with all singles.  McCray now has a 7-game hitting streak, and is 10-for-30 (.333) with three doubles and one home run over that span, and is now batting a .246/.342/.413.
  • 3B Brett Auerbach was 2-for-5 with a strikeout, but notably had three steals, giving him eight while with Eugene.  in 30 games at High-A, he has eight steals in nine attempts, and that’s after having six steals in ten attempts over 45 games at Double-A.
  • Starting pitcher Hayden Wynja gave up two runs on four hits and three walks in 4.0 innings, with four strikeouts.  That raises his ERA in Eugene to 2.00 after two games at the level, with seven walks to seven strikeouts in 9.0 innings.

  • Left fielder Alexander Suarez co-led the Giants in hits, going 3-for-5 with all singles.  It was his second 3-hit game of the month.  He’s batting .250/.314/.363, but doesn’t have an extra-base hit since July 5th (a span of 11 games).
  • Catcher Zach Morgan also had three hits, going 3-for-5 with all singles.  He raised his batting average up from .230 to .239 in the one game.  On the season, he’s batting .239/.367/.353.
  • In his San Jose debut, starting pitcher Mauricio Estrella gave up two runs in 4.0 innings, on three hits, three walks, and one HBP, with four strikeouts.  Previously, Estrella had a 6.16 ERA in eight games in the ACL.

  • Third baseman Elian Rayo had a big day, going 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles.  That gives him seven doubles on the summer, already matching his total from last season in just 33 games, where he took 52 last season.  He’s batting .240/.355/.490 on the summer.
  • DH Damon Dues was 1-for-3 with his first rehab home run, plus two walks.  After eight rehab games, the home run is his first extra-base hit while he’s gone 6-for-23 (.261) with nine walks to four strikeouts.
  • Catcher Rayner Santana was 2-for-4 with a 3-run home runs.  That’s his third home run in 16 ACL games this season, as he’s gone 8-for-41 (.195) with one double to go with the three home runs.
  • Starting pitcher Trevor McDonald went 2.2 scoreless innings, giving up a hit and a walk, with three strikeouts.  That gives him a 3.52 ERA across four games in the ACL during his rehab, with ten strikeouts to two walks.
