Sacramento Notes:

  • He did it again.  Alexander Knapp went 1-for-3 with a walk and his home run in his fourth straight game.  Through seven games with Sacramento, Knapp is batting .407/.448/.926 with two doubles and four home runs.
  • Bryce Johnson led the River Cats in hit, going 2-for-4 with his third triple.  Despite playing in 73 games this season, Johnson only has six doubles, three triples, and five home runs.  His batting line is .283/.354/.399.
  • Curt Casali made his third rehab appearance, though he’d had the last two games off.  However, he’s 0-for-7 with 7 K’s overall so far.
  • Starter Sean Hjelle gave up six runs, though just two earned, in 4.0 innings.  He gave up seven hits and three walks, with three strikeouts.  All the unearned runs came on Hjelle’s own error, his first of the season.

High-A: Eugene 9, Hillsboro 1

Eugene Notes:

  • Jimmy Glowenke had a grand game, going 3-for-4 with a grand slam, as well as a double, and five RBI.  It was Glowenke’s sixth double and sixth home run in High-A, and a full 20% of all the RBI he’s had this season.
  • Rob Emery was 2-for-3 with a HBP and his fourth double in Eugene.  Through 11 games, Emery has a .333/.476/.455 batting line with four doubles, and seven walks to nine strikeouts.
  • Simon Whitemand went 2-for-4, his third multi-hit game in the last five.  He’s gone 6-for-16 (.375) with one walks to five strikeouts over that span, raising his average from .147 to .180 at the level.  He also picked up two steals, to give him 10 on 11 attempts in 36 games at Eugene.
  • Nick Swiney had a solid game, giving up just one run in 4.0 innings, on four hits and a walk, with four strikeouts.  Swiney has allowed just three earned runs (seven overall) in his last five starts, a span of 15.2 innings.  Overall he has a 3.41 ERA with 81 strikeouts to 35 walks in 66.0 innings.

Low-A: San Jose 7, Rancho Cucamonga 3

San Jose Notes:

  • Hayden Cantrelle hit his second home run with San Jose while going 1-for-4.  In 28 games, Cantrelle has a .269/.412/.452 batting line with three doubles, four triples, and two home runs.
  • Carter Williams went 2-for-4 with his 12th double of the season, plus a walk.  He’s got a batting line .399/.488/.652 with 12 doubles, a triple, and seven home runs.
  • Adrian Sugastey was 2-for-3 with his eighth double.  Sugastey has a batting line of .228/.330/.344 in 48 games at San Jose, with eight doubles, a triple, and four home runs.
  • Starter Nick Sinacola struck out seven over 4.2 innings, while allowing two runs on four hits and three walks.  It’s the second straight game where Sinacola has allowed three walks after three straight games without one.  He has 92 strikeouts to 26 walks in 76.0 innings.
