Carter Aldrete has had a bit of a quiet season in Double-A, but the nephew of the former big league Giant had a huge day, hitting three home runs on a day that the entire Richmond team hit eight!  Meanwhile, Grant McCray led Eugene in a weather-shortened game, and 1st round pick Bryce Eldridge hit his first home run in Low-A!

Top Sacramento Performances:

  • Center fielder Heliot Ramos had Sacramento’s only extra-base hit, going 1-for-5 with a double and a strikeout.  Ramos now has 11 doubles, along with three triples and ten home runs, with a batting line in Triple-A of .305/.371/.575.
  • Catcher Jakson Reetz went 2-for-3 with a walk, the only Cat with multiple hits.  Reetz is hitting .245/.352/.518 with 17 walks to 38 strikeouts through 42 games.
  • Reliever Drew Strotman got the lion’s share of innings, going 4.0 shutout innings, allowing two hits, one walk, and one HBP, with five strikeouts.  Strotman has a 6.12 ERA this season, with 80 strikeouts to 63 walks in 85.1 innings.

Top Richmond Performances:

  • Designated hitter Carter Aldrete led the way on a huge day for the Richmond offense, who had a total of eight home runs(!), hitting three home runs on a 3-for-5 day with two strikeouts.  That gives Aldrete 12 home runs on the season after 95 games, far short of his total of 21 last season between Eugene and Richmond.  He’s hitting .217/.279/.372 at Richmond this season.
  • Sean Roby was 2-for-6 with a home run and a double.  Through 15 games, Roby has two doubles and two home runs at Richmond, hitting just .179/.242/.321 as he has come back from injury.
  • Right fielder Victor Bericoto, going 2-for-4 with a walk, picking up a home run of his own.  It’s Bericoto’s second straight game with a home run, and his fifth home run in the last seven games.  He’s 9-for-25 (.360) with five home runs, two doubles, three walks and six strikeouts in that span, and is now hitting .230/.386/.467 at Richmond with eight home runs.
  • Left fielder Ismael Munguia went 2-for-5 with a leadoff home run and a walk.  The home run was Munguia’s first home run since June 29th, the day he came back from missing over a month with injury in the ACL.  It’s his first Richmond home run since May 17th.  In 61 games at Double-A this season, he now has four home runs and eleven doubles, to go with a .292/.364/.388 batting line.
  • Shortstop Will Wilson went 2-for-6 with a grand slam for his home run.  It’s his third home run since returning to Richmond, in his 21st game.  His Double-A batting line is .205/.255/.352, with three home runs, two doubles, and one triple.
  • First baseman Logan Wyatt was 1-for-5, with his lone hit being a home run.  It’s Wyatt’s second game in a row with a home run, and his fourth home run in six games.  Wyatt now has nine home runs and ten doubles in Double-A after 55 games, with a batting line of .243/.318/.452.
  • While Jimmy Glowenke did not have any home runs, he was perfect at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a double, a walk, and a HBP.  It’s his 12th double in Richmond, to go with seven home runs, and he’s now got a batting line of .269/.369/.433.

  • Center fielder Grant McCray was the only Emerald with multiple hits in this shortened game, going 2-for-3 with a double.  That sets a new season-high in doubles for him with 24 this season, to go with six doubles and 13 home runs, and he’s hitting .258/.358/.418.
  • DH Tanner O’Tremba went 1-for-2 with a single and a walk.  After five games in Eugene, O’Tremba is 5-for-18 with a double and a triple, with three walks and five strikeouts.
  • Starting pitcher Seth Lonsway gave up one run in 5.0 innings, off of just two hits and a walk, while striking out five.  Lonsway has a 5.67 ERA after 27 games, with 75 strikeouts to 53 walks in 85.2 innings.

Top San Jose Performances:

  • Right fielder Bryce Eldridge finally hit his first home run at San Jose, going 1-for-5.  He had five home runs in 16 games in the ACL, and it took him six games for his first in Low-A.  Eldridge is 7-for-26 (.269) in those six games, with three walks to seven strikeouts.
  • Left fielder Scott Bandura was 2-for-3 with a triple, a walk, and a HBP.  It’s his first triple in 17 games at Low-A, to go with four doubles and one home runs, with 13 walks to 14 strikeouts.  He’s hitting .286/.425/.446.
  • Center fielder Turner Hill went 1-for-4 with a triple and a walk.  It’s his third triple in San Jose, and fourth overall, including his two games in Sacramento.  He hit .292/.382/.376 through 67 games, with 17 doubles and three triples at San Jose.
  • Starting pitcher Nomar Medina went 5.0 innings, allowing two runs on two hits , a walk, and a HBP, while striking out two.  Medina has a 5.48 ERA after 24 games, with 72 strikeouts to 46 walks in 90.1 innings.
