As the season winds down (and Eugene in particular is petering out), Grant McCray is having a minor awakening at the end of the season, as he hit another home run (but also got caught stealing).  In Sacramento, Wade Meckler made his return and had a good game back.

Top Sacramento Performances:

  • First baseman Trenton Brooks’s home run was the team’s only extra-base hit, as he went 1-for-4.  That’s Brooks’ third home run in 11 games with Sacramento, and 19th overall including his time with Las Vegas.  He’s hitting .250/.404/.500 with his new team.
  • Left fielder Wade Meckler made his return to Sacramento, for the first time since August 13th, and went 2-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout.  Meckler hit just .232/.328/.250 in the big leagues after 20 games with just one double, and six walks to 25 strikeouts..  His Triple-A numbers after 11 games are at .429/.568/.607, with two doubles and one home run, with nine walks to six strikeouts.
  • Center fielder Tyler Fitzgerald was 2-for-4 with a strikeout.  Fitzgerald is hitting .283/.347/.499 in Triple-A through 92 games, with 37 walks to 101 strikeouts.

Top Richmond Performances:

  • Third baseman Carter Aldrete led the way for Richmond, going 2-for-3 with a home run and a double.  It gives him 19 doubles and 13 home runs in 98 games this season.  He’s hitting .223/.283/.389.
  • Shortstop Will Wilson went 1-for-3 with a home run and a walk.  It was Wilson’s fourth home in Richmond after 27 games.  It’s Wilson’s first home run since August 31st, and he’s hitting .204/.262/.354 in Double-A.
  • Starting pitcher Nick Zwack gave up two runs in 4.0 innings, all on three hits.  He struck out four in the game.  Zwack has 87 strikeouts to 31 walks in 78.0 innings, with a 6.46 ERA.

  • Center fielder Grant McCray had the team’s only big hit, going 1-for-3 with a home run and a walk, and getting caught stealing once.  McCray now has 14 home runs, to go with six triples and 25 doubles this season.  He also now has been caught ten times in 60 stolen base attempts.  His batting line is at .257/.361/.419.
  • Third baseman Luis Toribio went 1-for-4 with a double.  That’s 17 doubles for him this year in 99 games, to go with a triple and 16 home runs.  He’s hitting .227/.331/.423 on the season.
  • Starting pitcher Daniel Blair gave up four runs in 4.0 innings, all on seven hits and two HBP, with three strikeouts.  That bumped his ERA up to 5.58, with 42 strikeouts to 16 walks in 40.1 innings.

Top San Jose Performances:

  • Designated hitter Dilan Rosario was 3-for-4 with two doubles and a home run, with easily his best game of the season.  It gives Rosario eight doubles and four home runs at San Jose in 58 games.  He’s hitting .253/.301/.374 at the level.
  • Center fielder Turner Hill was 3-for-5 with a double, and got caught stealing once.  Hill now has 18 doubles in San Jose after 72 games, to go with one triple and no home runs.  He’s hitting .291/.378/.373 at Low-A this season.
  • Starting pitcher Cale Lansville gave up two runs in 3.0 innings, off of four hits and one walk, along with two wild pitches.  He struck out six.  After three games, Lansville has a 5.14 ERA at San Jose, with 11 strikeouts to three walks in 7.0 innings.
