AAA: El Paso 7, Sacramento 3
Sacramento Notes:
- Evan Longoria had the best game of his rehab, going 3-for-3 with his first home run in the four games. Over four games, he’s 5-for-13 (.385) with a walk and two strikeouts.
- Mauricio Dubon actually had stumbled a little bit over his last two games, going 0-for-5 with two walks (and two stolen bases), but he was back with multiple hits on Monday. His batting line is at .358/.441/.448 in Sacramento.
- Tyler Beede had one of his worst games, tying a season-high with six walks in just 2.2 innings. In 48.2 innings, he’s walked 45 and struck out 50 in Sacramento.
- Tyler Cyr made his first appearance in nearly a month, since August 12th, striking out the only batter he faced. His ERA is 6.75 this season.
- Kervin Castro has only pitched twice in August, but hasn’t been scored upon yet. Castro’s ERA is near its season low, at 3.25. He’s struck out 48 and walked 19 in 36.0 innings.
- Tyler Chatwood made his second appearance in the Giants organization. He gave up a pair of hits with a walk in his first inning, but just a walk in this game. Chatwood has worked only in relief this season, with a 5.46 ERA for Toronto early in the season.
AA, High-A, & Low-A: Scheduled Day Off
ACL: ACL Giants Black 12, ACL Athletics 10
ACL Giants Black Notes:
- Ghordy Santos hit his first home run of the spring, and then hit his second only innings later in his 7th game of the summer. The 21-year old is batting .353/.476/.765 over his first seven games of the year.
- Jared Dupere, the team’s 13th round draft pick from 2021, made his professional debut, hitting a double and collecting a walk. Also debuting was 19th round pick Irvin Murr III, going 0-for-3.
- Hunter Bishop’s rehab hit its 6th game, and he finally collected his first hit. He’s 1-for-13 with three walks and five strikeouts and a stolen base in those six games.
- Lisander De La Cruz had gone six straight appearances without allowing a run, but he got hit hard in his second start of the season. In 12.1 innings, he struck out 16 and walked eight.
ACL: ACL Rockies 1, ACL Giants Orange 0
ACL Giants Orange Notes:
- Adrian Sugastey had his 3rd consecutive 2-hit game. He’s raised his batting average from .333 to .365, and has four doubles and one home run in 25 games this ACL season.
- 10th round pick Vaun Brown made his debut, going 1-for-2 with a walk.
- Damon Dues was one of the Giants’ undrafted free agent signings after the 2021 draft, and he made his debut with a 1-for-3 day.
- Starter Nick Morreale had a short day, only getting through 2/3rds of an inning before an injury ended his day. His status remains unknown.
DSL: DSL Tigers 3, DSL Giants Black 1 (Suspended-Top 4th-Rain)
DSL: DSL Giants Orange 2, DSL Pirates Gold 0 (Suspended-Bottom 2nd-Rain)
Both games will be completed on September 2nd. This was going to be the DSL Black team’s first game since July 29th.
