Trenton Brooks hasn’t been with Sacramento for long, but he’s come alive against his old team in Las Vegas, with his third straight game with a home run.  Meanwhile, Ismael Munguia continues a surprising proclivity for leadoff home runs, and Grant McCray picked up two more steals for his total this season.

  • Trenton Brooks continued his revenge run against his old team in Las Vegas, hitting another home run, his third game in a row with one, as he went 1-for-4 with a walk.  Brooks is 6-for-15 with three home runs and a double in four games at his old home.  He has five home run now with Sacramento, after hitting 16 in 94 games at Las Vegas.
  • Right fielder Luis Gonzalez went 2-for-4 with a double.  That’s his fifth double in 27 games, after a triple and a home run.  He’s hitting .255/.355/.362 in Triple-A since coming back from injury.
  • Left fielder Wade Meckler went 2-for-4 with a walk.  That’s three straight 2-hit games since coming back to Triple-A, going 6-for-13 with two walks to just one strikeout.

  • Center fielder Ismael Munguia had another leadoff home run for the Squirrels, his only hit on a 1-for-5 day with a strikeout.  It’s his second leadoff home run in his last four games, and fourth leadoff home run out of six home runs in 69 games at Double-A.  Munguia is hitting .283/.354/.393 in Richmond.
  • First baseman Logan Wyatt went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, and a strikeout.  Wyatt has 11 doubles in 60 games, going with nine home runs, and has a .259/.342/.456 batting line in Richmond.
  • Catcher Andy Thomas went 2-for-4 with a double.  That gives him 15 doubles, one triple, and 11 home runs in 105 games at Richmond, with 53 walks to 102 strikeouts.

Top Eugene Performances:

  • Third baseman Luis Toribio went 2-for-4 with a home run and a double.  That gives Toribio 18 doubles and 17 home run, to go with a triple, in 101 games this season.  Toribio has a batting line of .231/.334/.424, with 112 strikeouts to 54 walks.
  • Second baseman Thomas Gavello went 2-for-4 with a double, his second at High-A.  In 28 games at Eugene, Gavello just has two doubles and one home run, leading to a batting line of .227/.324/.284.
  • Center fielder Grant McCray goes 1-for-2 with a double, two walks, and two stolen bases, plus a sacrifice fly.  McCray has 52 steals in 62 attempts now, with 26 doubles as well as six triples and 14 home runs.  McCray has raised his batting line up to .248/.363/.421.
  • Reliever Eric Silva threw 2.0 shutout innings, walking two and striking out two.  That’s four straight scoreless outings for Silva, his longest streak of the season for him.  Silva has a 5.92 ERA this season with 73 strikeouts to 39 walks.

  • Center fielder Turner Hill went 1-for-3 with a walk, and his 19th double of the season.  Hill has 37 walks to 31 strikeouts in 73 games at San Jose, with a batting line of .292/.379/.376.
  • Starting pitcher Esmerlin Vinicio gave up two runs on four hits and three walks in 4.0 inning, all while striking out four.  Vinicio has a 4.91 ERA with 83 strikeouts to 42 walks in 77.0 innings.
