Richmond Notes:

  • Simon Whiteman had a big game, with his third home run in Richmond, and his 14th double there.  Whiteman has upped his batting line to .255/.352/.380 on the season.
  • Heath Quinn made his Double-A debut for the season, with his first hit at the level as a home run.  That’s nine home runs on the season combined.  In 2019, Quinn spent 32 games in Richmond, batting .206/.301/.330 with two home runs.
  • Shane Matheny hit just his third home run of the season in his 54th game.
  • Michael Plassmeyer tied his season high with 7.0 innings, with a respectable outing, also tying a season-high with nine strikeouts.  With Richmond, he has 70 strikeouts to 11 walks in 66.0 IP.

High-A: Eugene 6, Everett 3

Eugene Notes:

  • Brett Auerbach broke a 2-game hitless streak with a home run, his 10th in High-A.  He also stole a base, giving him 13 in 13 attempts at the level, and 25 in 30 attempts overall.
  • Ricardo Genovés had two hits, and hit his first home run of August.  Genovés now has five home runs in 41 games at Eugene, and had six home runs in 38 games at San Jose.
  • Conner Nurse had another solid game, holding Everett to just one run on two hits.  He did give up a season-high-tying four walks, while striking out six.  He has 82 strikeouts to 43 walks in 86.2 innings.
  • Tyler Schimpf had one of his best games in a while, having his first scoreless multi-inning appearance in a while, and struck out five.  He’s got 53 strikeouts in 35.2 innings, with 17 walks.

Low-A: San Jose 4, Rancho Cucamonga 1

San Jose Notes:

  • Fabian Pena had his second consecutive multi-hit game, and hit his third home run in as many games.  He now has four home runs in 19 games at Low-A.
  • Ghordy Santos had his second 3-hit game of the season, in his second game at San Jose.  He was 10-for-28 (.357) in 10 games in the ACL with one double, two triples, and two home runs.  He also had 21 games in the AZL in 2019, hitting .314/.398/.430.
  • Luis Matos had a double for his only hit on Wednesday, his 27th of the season.  He’s had six straight games with an extra base hit, with four doubles and three home runs over that span.
  • Carson Ragsdale had one of his best games of the season, with 10 strikeouts across six innings.  The three hits he allowed was his lowest hit total since June 26th, but his three walks were the highest total he gave up since July 14th.  He has 136 strikeouts to 34 walks in 87.1 innings.
  • Randy Rodriguez struck out three in two innings of relief.  He’s got 65 strikeouts in 42.1 innings, with 22 walks.
