Mason Black might now be the ace at Sacramento, and he pitched like it today, with eight strikeouts for his second straight start. Richmond powered to another win in their tight playoff race, behind home runs by Jimmy Glownekie and Yoshi Tsutsugo. And Damon Dues and Grant McCray in Eugene each picked up two stolen bases.

Today was the final day of the regular season of both the Arizona Complex League and the Dominican Summer League…but three of the teams didn’t even play their final games, so 🤷‍♂️. Meanwhile, Tyler Fitzgerald hit another home run in Sacramento, and a couple of rehabs began, and one free agent signing finally made his debut.

It’s a Rookie-Schedule Monday, and while there’s some good things (2 home runs by Moises De La Rosa!), it’s also a good opportunity to look back at a week in Richmond with a lot of wins as the Squirrels push towards the playoffs.

As the big league team keeps having to plunder Sacramento as injuries mount, David Villar was left behind and he let the team know about it, with a huge game. Plus, Sacramento does something to Tacoma that hasn’t happened all season! Meanwhile, a Logan Wyatt home run keyed another Richmond win.

The Flying Squirrels had another walkoff win, the second time in three days, with that most exciting of finishes, a walkoff sacrifice fly by Sean Roby! But everywhere else, everything was upside down. We had two different position players pitching and a pitcher positioning!
